Close ups
l When the therapist and Lennie are talking to each other the camera focuses in to show Lennie’s facial expressions to set the scene and mood.
l When Lennie looks into the mirror, once again to focus on facial expressions.
l Ben punching his fist, no background wanted or face because we wanted the audience to concentrate purely on the fists.
l Lennie looking outside the window, this is because the picture then changes to a close up of the protagonist, it’s used to jump and thrill the audience.
Mid-shot
l The therapist answers the door and when she says goodbye, we wanted to set the mise-en-scene and create a formal feel by setting the scene in a modern room with a professional look.
l When Lennie is walking around the house during the opening title sequence, used to set the scene, have the audience establish this is a lived in house.
Reverse shot
l Therapist talking the Lennie from off screen, this is so the audience purely focus on Lennie and note her reactions also because a flash back takes place and there is no confusion as to who the flash back is for.
Match-on-action
l When Lennie walks through the door on the dream sequence, this is to make the audience feel as thought they’ve walked through the door as well.
180 degree rule
l Dream sequence as Lennie walks through the door, this is so the audience feel as though they are with the antagonist and can look at their surroundings.

Use two films to present a reasoned argument For how content and style determines the audience
-We looked at the films ‘Cloverfield’ and ‘Seven’ as our two thrillers. ‘Cloverfield’ is a horror/fantasy thriller and ‘Seven’ is a horror thriller, so there will be some overlap between the two.
-Cover field uses a technological creation as it's antagonist and seven uses a actor and make up as its special effect to create gore
-I think neither is better they are both suited to different films, in today’s standards when higher technological equipment is available and you can get a better result
then it suits more modern films but using technology in a film like seven which was produced when there wasn’t as much equipment wouldn't have worked
because it would have looked fake and taken some of the thriller edge off it.
-Style and content determined audience
-Post- modernists will love ‘Cloverfield’ because of the fact that it’s a new ground-breaking film because they want everything to be brand new and in a way that’s
not been done before
-factors. The way its
filmed is free handed in a hand held camera, this kind of camera shot will make people feel like they’re actually there
-Also the SPX are of a very high standard
-Hedonists and traditionalists will both like ‘Seven’ for different reasons.
-Hedonist will also be drawn to the film by the twist in the story plot
-traditionalist however will like the film because of the ways it closely follows the conventions of a thriller

Story board
We did have orignal sketchings on our story boards but they were incomplete and we decided we would get a better snes eof the camera angle we wanted to shoot if we used pictures rather than drawings. So before our shooting we all visited Martha's house and made a decision on what rooms we'd use and what kind of lighting we'd need. We then took a huge series of photos and chose the most representation and made our storyboard.

We have come up with dialogue for our film, although within the time there will not be a lot of talking we decided it is only sensible because then everyone knows what they are doing
Dialogue
Lennie- *knocks on the door*
Therapist – Hello, please come in
Lennie- Thank you
Therapist- Please have a seat, how have you been this past week
Lennie- I keep having these weird dreams, well I don’t know if there real
Therapist- Is it the same as before?
Lennie- Yes
*Flash back*
Therapist- Do you still think it’s the same as before?
*Flash back*
Lennie- *Nods*
*Dream sequence repeat*
Therapist- See you again next week
Lennie- Good-bye

We have planned to borrow the camcorder and tripod for the day before filming on both dates, and have scheduled to return them the day after filming. We have planned to do as much editing as possible as soon as we can to maximise time to work on the production log. If we fail to keep to this we have agreed that doing at least an hours work on the production log every Wednesday or Friday. The other free hours we have in lesson time will be spent editing.
