using music in our film

We put very carefuly consideration into what music we should use for our thriller. Our main peice of music is the song ‘mad world’ used during the opening title sequence. We used this song because of the associations it had with Donnie Darko but also because of the mood it creates. The song is depressing andwe wanted this kind of effect for our title sequence
     However we used lots of other sound effects such as the ehartbeat used when Lennie’s walkign up the dirve. the sound effect was from a copy rght free source like all our sound effects were, the amibance it creates, we edited it by cutting it down to two beats then repeating it the the length of Lennie walking down the drive, this ensured all beats sounded the same. Also though the heartbeat is slightly faster than a usual one suggesting there’s an element of fear, ad on hearing that the audiences own heartbeat would quicken.
     The lullaby at the beginning we used because once again with thought it was great at creating the right mood, it sound eeier and strange and so uncommmon we thought it was effective at giving a chilling sound and good at thrilling the audience. It was edited in well with the banging noise aswell to cause confusion and disorientation, which is what the character would have felt like.
